Ithaca New York Food
The sun is shining, birds are chirping and the Ithaca farmers market is in full swing for spring and summer. There's nothing like spending a Sunday, a slow morning at the State Diner, stuffed with good food and hot coffee. If you're looking for pancakes hanging on your plate, head down the street to StateDiner, where you'll feel like you're in time.
If burgers are not your thing, then look at the fried pork belly burger or the burger with fries. If you don't want a burger, the restaurant also acts like a classic New York burger joint, complete with its own menu of burgers, chips and drinks.
The sausage plate is also interesting, and is spiced up with a variety of cheeses and meats, as well as several different cheeses.
The meal begins with a lemongrass marinated skewer before moving on to a plate of fried garlic, red onions and red wine vinegar. The food is paired with handmade - selected red, white and sparkling wines, or you can opt for an artisanal cocktail made from a variety of different spirits such as gin, vodka, rum, lime juice and more.
Finger Lakes has some of the best wines it has to offer, accompanied by a mulled wine - glazed chicken breast. The bar serves Ithaca's famous craft brews, including a variety of beers from the emerging cider industry in New York State. If you're looking for something different from the typical craft beer bar, Westy's is the best bed in the heart of the city with a wide selection of craft beers.
Mercato Bar & Kitchen is at the top of the local list of the best restaurants for its welcoming atmosphere and delicious cuisine. The fried chicken is legendary in this place, and the freshly prepared tapas, fresh salads and freshly baked desserts explain why I keep staggering around. Just a Taste is also known for its wine flights, where customers can taste several local and international grape varieties. Along with serving excellent oysters on the East Coast, the place has an encouraging commitment to its community and makes do with a modest budget.
